Jamestown on Passport, and the Royal Wedding

Tea Time Tidbit for the week of April 2, 2018

The cast of Jamestown

There’s a new series now available to MPT Passport members that hails from the producers of Downton Abbey and which sounds equally as addictive a program.

Jamestown, which was written by Bill Gallagher who also penned the series Lark Rise to Candleford and The Paradise, tells the story of three women whose courageous journey to the New World binds them together in ways they couldn’t possibly imagine. The eight-part drama is set in 1619 Jamestown, and I’m sure its twisting storylines will cause some serious binge watching! » Watch here

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

If you’re not familiar with MPT Passport, it’s a member benefit offered to those who contribute to MPT at the $60 annually or above level. Passport members are given access to a vast on-demand library of PBS programs that includes such gems as Antiques Roadshow, American Experience and all six seasons of Downton Abbey. MPT Passport is where, come the merry month of May, you’ll also be able to find Royal themed archival programs, in celebration of Britain’s next Royal Wedding.

The actual wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will, of course, be available for all MPT viewers to watch, courtesy of the BBC’s live coverage on the morning of Saturday, May 19, starting at 6am. Leading up to the wedding, MPT will also be airing special programs each evening. We’ll have more specifics of those programs nearer the time. In the meantime, you can start planning your own Royal Wedding breakfast viewing party!
