Foyle's War's Honeysuckle Weeks
Tea Time Tidbit for the week of August 8, 2016
The actress with what must be the sweetest name in television, Honeysuckle Weeks, recently gave her family and her fans a big scare when she went missing and couldn’t be located for over 24 hrs.
The 37-year-old, who plays Samantha Stewart in Foyle’s War, was reported missing by her family at 10pm, just an hour after she was last seen at her home in Chichester, Sussex. It seems they didn’t want to waste a minute in locating her, as they were concerned about her behavior, as she’d been expressing feelings of “anxiety.” Fortunately Weeks turned up the next evening at a relative’s house in London. According to a police public notification, the relative contacted the police and Weeks “remained with police prior to being returned to West Sussex.”
Weeks is reportedly quite a bit different from the smartly turned out character she plays in Foyle’s War; especially when it comes to driving. Earlier this year, Weeks was convicted of speeding while still under a driving ban from a previous driving conviction. She also had a child in the backseat of the car who wasn’t in a proper seatbelt. As well as being fined, Weeks was ordered to wear an electronic tag and was given a four week nighttime curfew when she could not leave her home between the hours of 7pm and 9am.
Weeks began her acting career almost 25 years ago playing the lead role in a children’s series, alongside her older sister actress Perdita Weeks. Her brother Rollo is also an actor. Their parents reportedly both wanted to be actors, but according to their middle daughter gave up their efforts and focused on making "actors out of their children" instead. But not it seems to the detriment of their academic educations. Weeks for instance managed to combine a television career with a good education and attended the elite girls school Roedean in Brighton, as well as Oxford, from which she graduated with an English degree.
Weeks has a a five year-old son, named Wade (after Weeks’ mother’s maiden name), with Lorne Stormont-Darling, who is 16 years her senior. The couple married in 2005 in a Buddhist ceremony in the Himalayas, in an apple orchard 8,000 ft. above sea level. They later had a church wedding back in England.
Most recently Weeks worked on the Inspector Lewis series. Foyle’s War concluded last year after being on the air in the UK since 2002.
