The cast of After You’ve Gone

On Thursday, November 15, we wrap up season three of After You’ve Gone.

Unfortunately, After You’ve Gone ended after its third series. This came as a huge surprise to fans of the series in the U.K., as it had already been announced that the BBC had commissioned a fourth series. In fact, writers had already started work on it and the decision to cancel the show reportedly cost the BBC several thousand pounds.

Unlike viewers in the U.K. who were no longer able to watch After You’ve Gone after its cancellation, MPT’s Afternoon Tea viewers are a little more fortunate, as we’ll begin re-airing the show starting with the very first episode, on Friday, November 16 at its usual time of 3:30pm.

If you’ve missed seeing Jimmy’s girlfriend Siobhan in the show lately, there was a good reason for the character’s absence. When the third series began, the actress who played Siobhan, Amanda Abbington, was pregnant with her second child, so her filming schedule needed to be reduced. Abbington’s partner at the time and father of their two children, was Martin Freeman, who played Dr. Watson in Sherlock. Abbington was also in Sherlock, playing the role of Watson’s wife Mary Morstan.

Abbington and Freeman were together 16 years, but separated in 2016. The 44-year-old actress is currently dating the Irish actor Jonjo O’Neill.
